RCB Plumbing Ltd – Terms & Conditions

Welcome to RCB Plumbing Ltd. These Terms & Conditions are designed to give you a clear understanding of how we work, what you can expect from us, and your rights as a customer. By booking our services, you are agreeing to the terms outlined below.

1. General Terms

These terms apply to all services provided by RCB Plumbing Ltd, including plumbing, heating, boiler work, servicing, drainage, emergency call-outs, and bathroom installations.

We may update these terms periodically to reflect new services, legal requirements, or improvements in how we operate. The latest version will always apply.

2. Services Provided

RCB Plumbing Ltd offers:

  • Boiler servicing, repairs, and installations
  • Plumbing and heating installations
  • Bathroom renovations
  • Emergency callouts
  • System flushing and maintenance
  • Service Plans and aftercare packages

We reserve the right to refuse work at our discretion. All work is carried out by qualified, experienced professionals.

3. Quotations, Estimates & Pricing

Hourly Rate Work:

Work charged at an hourly rate will include:

  • Time spent on-site carrying out the work
  • Reasonable time spent sourcing materials off-site (chargeable up to 45 minutes unless otherwise agreed)
  • Labour rates clearly outlined in your booking or estimate
  • No charges for breaks or non-work time

Fixed Price Work:

Quoted prices include labour and materials based on the agreed scope of work. A fixed quote may be adjusted if:

  • Additional work is requested
  • Unexpected issues arise during installation
  • Material costs increase
  • There are manifest errors in the original quote

Estimates are not binding unless confirmed in writing by RCB Plumbing Ltd.

4. Deposits & Payments

  • A deposit is required to secure your booking — usually 50% of the job cost or the total materials cost (whichever is higher)
  • In some cases, full payment may be required before work begins
  • Delayed deposits may result in a change to your installation date
  • Final invoices are due upon receipt
  • Late payments are subject to interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate until paid in full

5. Cancellation Policy

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date you accept our quote.

If you request work to begin during this period and later cancel, you will be liable for reasonable costs for any work completed up to the point of cancellation.

To cancel, contact us by phone or email and include your name, address, invoice number, and job date.

6. Access & Timekeeping

  • We aim to offer a 4-hour arrival window and will notify you at least 30 minutes before arrival when possible
  • We are not liable for delays caused by issues outside our control (e.g. supplier delays, traffic, emergencies)
  • Safe and functional access to stop taps, valves, and work areas is your responsibility

7. Customer-Supplied Equipment

While we’re happy to fit materials you provide, please note:

  • We cannot guarantee the quality or compatibility of customer-supplied items
  • We are not liable for faults, delays, or additional labour caused by these items
  • Any extra time or materials required due to customer-supplied goods will be chargeable

We recommend using products we supply, as we only work with trusted brands and reputable suppliers.

8. System Flushing Disclaimer

System flushing is effective for clearing sludge and debris but does not undo corrosion or poor system design.

Customers should be aware:

  • Older systems may be vulnerable to leaks during or after flushing
  • Some radiators or components may not function properly post-flush if underlying issues exist
  • Additional repairs identified during flushing will be quoted separately

9. Guarantees & Workmanship

  • We provide a 12-month guarantee on our workmanship
  • Manufacturer warranties apply separately and must be registered where required
  • Guarantees are void if:
    • The system has been altered by others
    • Components are misused, damaged, or tampered with
    • The system is over 10 years old or in poor condition
  • We do not guarantee:
    • Drainage or waste blockages
    • Work carried out against our advice

10. Liability

We are only liable for defects or issues arising directly from our work.

We are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing faults or issues we were not instructed to repair
  • Work carried out by others
  • Failures of valves, stop taps, or bleed points due to age or corrosion
  • Electrical faults that may occur after isolating power during servicing

11. Tools & Materials

All tools and materials remain the property of RCB Plumbing Ltd until paid for in full.

We reserve the right to:

  • Reclaim materials or equipment from site if unpaid
  • Enter the property (with reasonable notice) to retrieve unpaid goods
  • Take legal action to recover tools or materials withheld by the customer

12. Complaints & Customer Satisfaction

If you are not satisfied with our work, please notify us in writing within 12 months of completion.

We will inspect and carry out remedial work where appropriate. Failure to allow inspection may invalidate any guarantee or complaint.

13. Service Plans

Our service plans include annual boiler servicing and access to exclusive customer benefits.

  • Customers maintaining uninterrupted service plans with us for the full warranty period will qualify for a 2-year extended warranty from RCB Plumbing Ltd

  • Plan terms are subject to change and will be confirmed in writing upon signup
